Katrina Pierson appears to be blaming CNN for her factual blunder
Donald Trump Spokeswoman Katrina Pierson appears to be blaming CNN for her latest factual blunder.
After appearing on CNN this past Saturday and saying that “Barack Obama went into Afghanistan creating another problem,” Pierson took to her twitter page to say that her factual blunder was due to CNN’s bad sound system.
Pierson tweeted , “For the record, audio disruptions and echos should be fixed immediately. Especially when you say it out loud on the air. @CNN.”
Pierson’s attempt at explaining away her error on CNN does not hold water. The biggest problem Pierson has is that her comment is consistent with her boss’ position that President Obama is to blame for things that pre-date his presidency.
And three things predating the presidency of Barack Obama that the Trump team has blamed President Obama for are the Afghanistan War, Iraq War, and the creation of ISIS.
The Afghanistan War and Iraq War began under former President George W. Bush, while ISIS was founded by the radical Islamic terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Al-Zarqawi was killed during an airstrike in 2006.
During the time of the Afghanistan War and Iraq War and creation of ISIS, Barack Obama was an Illinois state senator.
Yet despite these facts, Donald Trump and his spokeswoman are gung ho on giving President Obama credit when it is clearly not due.
A perfect example of this is the argument Trump got himself into with two Gold Star parents. Trump became upset after Khizr Khan challenged Trump’s narrow view about Muslims.
During the Democratic National Convention, Khizr Khan told Trump about Muslim Americans like his son, Captain Humayun Khan, who gave his life to protect the very freedoms that Trump wants to take away from specific groups of Americans.
In response to Khizr Khan’s comments, Trump decided to send out a tweet accusing Khizr Khan of attacking him with the Constitution, as well as insinuating that Capt. Khan’s Islamic religion was enough for him to be stigmatized.
Trump also sent out his spokeswoman to let the American people know who really was to blame for Captain Khan’s death.
Earlier during this month, Pierson told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that President Obama was to blame for Captain Khan’s death.
Needless to say, the comment didn’t go over too well. It led to the hashtag Katrina Pierson, mocking the spokeswoman for things she “thinks” President Obama started.
For her part, Pierson tried clearing everything up by saying that she was talking about the Iraq War “timeline” and that Trump, unlike former U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton, didn’t vote for the Iraq War which has resulted in soldiers like Captain Khan losing their lives.
Soon after, Trump managed to undermine Pierson’s explanation after he followed up her original comment with “President Obama is the founder of ISIS.”
When reporters tried giving Trump a way out by saying he really meant that the president’s policies made it easier for ISIS to thrive, Trump decided that it was best to stay tucked away in his own world where he could continue wrapping himself in the comfort of “his belief” that “President Obama is the founder ISIS.”
Unwilling to recognize that he had just made things worse, Trump continued on his campaign of “Just blame Obama” by allowing his spokeswoman Katrina Pierson to fixe her lips to “Just blame Obama.”
Like her boss, Pierson decided that she would “Just blame Obama” for something he clearly did not do, which is to start the Afghanistan War.
And her decision to “ Just blame Obama” for a war that began under then President Bush was not due to CNN’s sound system but to Donald Trump’s need to “Just Blame Obama.”
